How FADEC handles your information
What we collect when you visit fadec.aero or contact us, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it and how to use your rights. In plain language.

Who is responsible
FADEC, the Flanders Aerospace & Defence Cluster, Brussels, Belgium. For anything about your personal data, write to membership@fadec.aero.
When you contact us
The contact form asks for your name, organisation, email address, a topic and your message. We use them only to answer you and, if you ask about membership, to follow up on that request. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible agreement, and our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us.
Your message is stored in the FADEC console and emailed to the cluster team. We keep it for 24 months, then delete it. To protect the form against abuse we also record the network address and browser type it was sent from, and delete those after 90 days. Messages our filters mark as automated are deleted after 7 days.
Emails you send to an @fadec.aero address are forwarded to the team member's mailbox.
Visit statistics
We count page views to learn which pages are useful, without cookies and without any identifier. For each view we keep the page, the name of the site that linked to it (for example linkedin.com) and whether it was a phone, tablet or computer. That cannot be tied to you, and two visits by the same person look like two strangers. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we do not count you at all. These counts are kept 400 days.
If a page fails in your browser, it reports the technical error message and the page address so we can fix it, kept 30 days.
Who helps us
These service providers process data on our behalf, under agreements that bind them to our instructions:
- Lovable and Cloudflare host and deliver this website (global network; the site is served from the location nearest to you).
- Railway hosts the FADEC console and its database, where enquiries are stored (the United States (California)).
- Resend delivers the emails the console sends to the cluster team (the European Union (Ireland)).
- Cloudflare Email Routing forwards mail sent to @fadec.aero addresses to the team's mailboxes (global network).
Where data is stored outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses in the provider's data processing agreement.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, to object to its use, or to receive it in a portable format. Write to membership@fadec.aero; we answer within one month.
You can also complain to the Belgian data protection authority: Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données, Drukpersstraat 35 / Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be.
